Chlorination: Our decision against chlorination – For a more environmentally friendly future
We have decided to stop offering chlorinated latex clothing to our customers and would like to explain the reasons for this openly and transparently. This decision is based on our commitment to environmental awareness and sustainable production.
Why we no longer offer chlorination
The chlorination of latex clothing requires the use of a large amount of chlorine liquid. For the chlorination of 100 kg of latex clothing with an average thickness of 0,4 mm are about 1.000 to 1.500 liters of chlorination liquid required, consisting of water, sodium hypochlorite (chlorine bleach) and hydrochloric acid.
After chlorination, a significant amount of chemical residues remain in the liquid, which:
- must be carefully neutralized in order to active chlorine and acid residues to dismantle,
- and then as Hazardous waste must be disposed of properly because it contains oxidizing and environmentally hazardous components.
This process represents a high burden on the environment We have therefore decided to eliminate this step from our production process in order to reduce our ecological footprint.
Your advantages with chlorine-free latex
Even without chlorination, our clothing offers many advantages:
- Natural shine and soft surface through high-quality care products.
- Skin friendliness through the processing of natural latex and tested pigments.
- And above all: a contribution to a more environmentally friendly world.
Our responsibility for the environment
As a manufacturer of latex clothing, we take responsibility for the environment and consistently focus on environmentally friendly measures:
- Avoiding plastic waste:
We avoid plastic packaging wherever possible. For unavoidable plastic components, we make payments to Lizenseroto promote the recyclability of our materials and offset plastic consumption. - natural latex from sustainable sources:
Our latex clothing is made from natural latex - a material obtained from the sap of the rubber tree. In contrast to finished latex sheets, which often contain synthetic additives, natural latex is:- biodegradable,
- free from unnecessary chemical softeners,
- and particularly skin-friendly.
Our quality standards: color selection and compatibility
Another unique selling point of our products is the careful selection of color pigmentsthat we use for our latex clothing. These pigments are:
- Food safe and tested for contact with human skin and mucous membranes.
- Free from harmful substances to offer you maximum comfort.
We thank you for your understanding and support on our path to more sustainable production. If you have any questions or would like tips on caring for your latex clothing, we are always happy to help!
